Social media and generation gap

In today's globalised world, everyone is connected, even when they are so far away from each other. What do you, how this become possible? Because of globalisation or social media or broadband connections? Well, whatever the reason is, we all know that it also have some pros and cons, as everything else have. Internet, have done a lot to connect people, share their emotions and feelings so easily that you don't even have to go at particular place or write a huge letter just to show your emotions. Nowadays, everyone, especially youth, are connected with social media, that they don't even realise the time. They can awake untill 4'O clock in the morning, doing nothing except scrolling on social media like Facebook, snapchat, above all instagram. Instagram is that famous among youth's that instead of being concerned about their future, they are more concerned about likes, comments and followers. For example, I saw a movie, which is on the Netflix, called "Social Dilema". In that movie, it was discussed, that how much youth is involved in social networking sites, like instagram. They show that how instagram makers, by tracking your likes, dislikes and following list, control your mind and only show you in which you have more interest. "Social Dilemma" is a good example of how all this social networking sites is a trap for everyone especially youth's and new generation.

Social media has done a lot of good to people, no doubt but again everything has its causes, so the social media does. It connected people, doesn't matter if they are from other state or same state. But, as I said everything has its cons, social media have also made a huge generation gap. Like, for example, earlier people used to talk to each other physically in social gatherings or by visiting each other's place. They used to get the news through reading newspapers or watching television. Our grandparents or even our parents are not that much aware with the use of social media. While on the other hand, we, the new generation, don't like visiting each other's place that much, except when necessary or want to go out of house, so that they can chill with their friends. We don't like reading newspapers or watching television to know the news, instead we prefer to google the particular incident, about which we want to know. That's why we are not aware about what's going on in India or in politics, like which policy is recently launched for whom, on which case Supereme Court made the challenging decision, etc. But when it comes to visiting new restaurant or launch date of new iphone, everyone (youth) is aware about it.

So, social media does have a lot of impact of this generation gap. We are so involved in social media and we don't bother to sit with our parents and have a discussion on anything. We are so into it, that all we care about is to have a corner of the bedroom, pizza with Netflix and social media. I would say that we should try to keep ourselves busy in playing physical games, work, spending some time with our family, instead of just scrolling down social media for a day and night. I'm not saying that you should just lock your phone away or not to use social media or pH at all, use it but for sometime. As SOCIAL MEDIA IS LIKE -

"DISTRACTED BY DISTRACTION FROM DISTRACTION".
